New Honda Advert

Well the people at Wieden+Kenedy (An Ad agency) have been pushing it with their adverts for Honda more and more to the point that this is their latest weird result (for those that havent seen it) Think maybe the singing is either a touch of genius or a step too far.Whatever they are definitly the new Guniess/B&H?Silk Cut of the current time

I think the guy in the ad might be Chop when he gets older. I'd love to see Chop bald but with a gingery blonde comb-over! Although I do like his neo-Hilter look at present. Beats my lego-man sprayed on look.

Greedy, did those guys do all the recent Honda ads (i.e. the "Hate something, Change Something" campaign) and the (not so recent) infamous 'domino effect' all in one sequence?

brmm brmm. Great ad, good to know Morgan Spurlock has made the handlebar fashionable again. And its combined with an overall from Herbie (oh but hangon he was a VW!).

Not sure if there are/were enough iconic Honda cars/bikes/boats/hotairballoons (apart from a Goldwing) to merit that display of their progress but obviously the speed thing is fantastic - but let down by the boat going through choppy waters instead of a gazillion miles an hour (anyone see those documentaries on the world landspeed record and breaking the sound barrier in the 50's/60's) completely flatout.

oh yeah and he didn't hitch a piggy-back on the walking robot that Honda spent a hundred billion dollars on. Loser.

Some of the cockpit shots were a little flaky, not sure if that was on pupose as a pastiche of old school speed ie water being flicked on his face in the boat.

So to sum up; All in all a very good inspiring ad stamping the strength/heritage of their brand, but Chop could have made it better. Is the ad agency recruiting?

Yeah they did do all those adverts Floody, its a very interesting example of an agency that have a great relationship with the client therefore getting ideas through that a more 'nervous' client would reject.
